We hosted and facilitated a briefing of opinions on the NFTF FAQs from the National Tax Administration Agency to three industry associations.

We have received a request from the Personal Taxation Division of the Taxation Department of the National Tax Agency(NTA) to exchange views with industry associations on the “NTA Tax Treatment of NFTs (Information)” (so-called FAQ on NFTs) published on January 13, 2023. In response to the request, the Japan Crypto Asset Business Association (JCBA), Japan Contents Blockchain Initiative (JCBI), and Japan Blockchain Association (JBA) have been contacted, and a briefing session and exchange of opinions will be held on February 8, 2023, online.Our company was in the role of coordinating and moderating the meeting.
On the day of the meeting, the NTA explained the NFT FAQs that had been released at that time, and the NTA representative responded to questions from participants from three industry associations. We hope that the FAQs will be brushed up and made better this time and that they will help those involved in taxation in various areas.
